Happy Halloween, ghosts and goblins! I hope everyone has some frighteningly fun festivities planned for today. I don't have anything special planned, but I do enjoy looking at all the nuts around here in their Halloween costumes...and there's always an abundance of sweets around the office on Halloween. (I hope Shines isn't reading this)
Speaking of...I lost 2 pounds. It's about dern time. That brings me to a total of 7 pounds lost and 27 more to go. =/ It was a straight up Malayalee fest at the gym last night. There was like a 6 mallus on the elypticals at one point in the night. At one point, I was wondering why more girls in OKC don't go to the gym...It's always just me and Sunu. Listen up girls of OKC...if you're looking for some eligible bachelors...Aspen is definitely the place to be between 8-10pm on Monday-Friday. You'll def'ly get your fill of eye candy. ;)
I watched a bit of the Bachelor last night. I don't know what possessed the girl with the timeline to try on a wedding dress when the bachelor came to her house for a hometown visit. I mean, why not just wear a neon sign around your neck that says, "I'M DESPERATE!!" I was embarrassed for her and couldn't watch anymore at that point.
I got to go taste testing with Ruby yesterday. We tasted all her reception food...twas quite a treat! ;) I'm so ready for this wedding. All of our tasks are dwindling down. This week she has her bridal hair and final fitting! Hopefully two months will fly! ;)
I leave you with some pictures of pwecious wittle ones...

Keepin' Hope Alive...
Encouraging Word:
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God! Psalm 42:11
At church yesterday, someone spoke on "hope." He said that sometimes we are so scared of being disappointed that we protect ourselves by not hoping and trusting. This was a statement that I could totally relate to. I realized that the way I think and the way are act are my defense mechanisms to protect myself from disappointment.
As humans, we are driven by hope and plans for the future. But sometimes, life serves you up a pile o' crap on a silver platter, and you're left feeling as if everything you've hope and dreamed for is unattainable. Those sparks within in you that kept your flame for life burning begin to flicker out in the wake of the storm that just hit.
But, what is life with out hope for brighter days? If you keep getting knocked down, and refuse to get up again...you lose. I guess what I'm saying is...I've learned over the past few months that it's ok to have hopes and dreams, but when you're living through a crisis...sometimes you have to step back and stop trying to see the entire picture. You just have to look at the piece of the picture that's right in front of your face...and get through the day. Keep your hopes and dreams alive because with out them you will lose your drive to overcome life's challenges.

Hindi Tunes Keep Me Hoppin...
Encouraging Word:
We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, Colossians 1:11
I've become more sociable at the gym these days. I find myself waving to people from the elyptical as they walk by. It's so funny that I tried to avoid that gym because of malu boys, and now I look forward to who I will see every day. I wish I could say that I see less of me, but the scale isn't budging. Why? Whyyyyyyyyy? If I ask Shines, he'll say I'm eating too many carbs and calories. Seriously...how's a girl supposed to survive on any less? *Sigh* Sunu A has been keeping me company at the gym these days. I haven't quite figured out why she's there, but I rather her be there than sweat and suffer alone. She pumped up my shuffle with some bass thumpin hindi tunes. Those of you who know me are probably thinking....HINDI TUNES?!?...Well, at this point...SOMETHING is better than NOTHING.
Lost...what the hellz is going on? Is it just me that wants to punch that guy Ben in the face? If I woke up to him staring at me, I'd scream bloody murder. He's frightening. This show drives me a tad bit more crazy each week!!

Happy Birthday, Janna....
Happy birthday to Miss J. Banana. She's on the other side of the world right now, but I didn't want to overlook her birthday shout out.
The best thing about flogging and blogging is that sometimes you are fortunate enough to meet people who share the same passion. When this occurs, it doesn't matter that you might live so far away from each other that the liklihood of meeting IRL is slim to none...what you do have in common surpasses all the logistics and you forge a bond that not many folks understand.
Jana is someone that I hardly know, yet feel like I've known for years. When I read her writing, it makes me aspire to write better. She's real and genuine, and you can sense that in every word she writes...it's just straight from the heart. She's reached out to me beyond the WWW to become a real friend...and for that I'm forever thankful.
Jana, I hope you're enjoying your day with your Daddy...I know this new year of your life has many great things in store for you! May God bless you abundantly and give you many reasons to keep smiling that Jana smile! ;)

Random Schtuff...
Encouraging Word:
For the word of God is alive and powerful... Hebrews 4:12 NLT
It's been a cold, but sunny morning. Much like the "front" I have to put up at work. I have to maintain a sunny disposition, but I'm feeling everything but. Sleep was minimal last night due to a bad case of the toss and turns. A deep conversation before bedtime with a friend who currently paddles in the same boat as me caused me to think too much instead of sleep.
Thankfully, I'll be leaving work a bit early, and if I'm lucky, maybe i can catch a nap sometime today. But I'm rarely lucky.
Worked out 6 days last week, but lost no poundage...beginning to get frustrated...but won't quit...can't quit...skinny clothes ordered from Forever 21 are well on the way. =/
I watched a hindi movie called "Kank" on Saturday night....I've renamed it "Skank" due to the subject matter (extra-marital affairs). Dumb movie. Fine actor. Abishek Bachan...I wuv you. Actually, I take that back. Interesting subject matter...dumb presentation of story. And there you have it, my review of Skank. "3 thumbs down," as Hrithik Roshan would say.

Forever Sixteen
Encouraging Word:
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17
TGIF, rat racers. Is it just me or has this been one heck of a long week? I thought Friday would never come. My thoughts are with ....
Miss Val this morning. Today's her first day back to work after maternity leave. I'm sure it was quite hard for her to pull herself away from baby Landon and leave him with daddy for the day.
BF. The punk now has a 4 day work week that I'm not really appreciating. Now that her AND billy have these flexible hours, it leaves me email-less on Fridays...which makes Fridays even longer!!!
Sunu K...she's taking her next set of exams today. I'm sure she will do well as always, but she's a wee bit nervous, so keep her in your prayers.
The other day I had a conversation with BF about the store Forever 21. Back in my day, it was known as the club kid store...the place my cousins and I ran to before Fokana way back in the day. So, when BF told me she shopped there, I proceeded to give her a lecture.
Sue: Do you know why they call that store Forever 21?
BF: Something about being 21 forever?
Sue: Yes, and how old are you?
BF: 27
Sue: It's totally a clubby store...thus the age 21.
BF: But you have to check it out on line. They have really cute work clothes.
I was highly skeptical. But, I checked it out anyways. Ahem. Ok, so I was wrong. I'm not afraid to admit it. BF was right....(this time) Last night, I actually found myself making a few purchases as well. In fact, I love some of their clothes...and let's not even get into the accessories...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
This morning as I walked into work, I realized that I look like I shop at a store called "Forever 16." Tomboy-Sue does not look like a 32 year old. Today is jeans day, so I'm wearing jeans, an over-sized black AFA t-shirt, black converse, and a hot pink velour jacket, with a sling purse. Hmm...pretty much EXACTLY the same way I dressed in high school. I think it's time to wake and come to grips with the fact that the last bell has rang and I'm now in my 30's. Ugh...I'm in desperate need of a fashion overhaul. Girly-Sue is screaming to be let loose. ;)

Oh to be in sunny Florida...
Encouraging Word:
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4
It's a blistery, cold day in Okc today...and as usual, my feet are not dressed weather appropriately. I really need some close-toed shoes. Anyway, it's just kind of a "bleh" day...
I got pictures from BF from her recent trip to Ft. Lauderdale with my sister and family...I thought I'd post it since I'm sure most of you are like me...living in cold places with very little sunshine right now. I thought some pics from sunny, Florida might do us all some good...

The cutest pumpkin in the pumpkin patch...
Encouraging Word:
Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. Isaiah 40:28 NLT
I had a very busy evening last night....but managed to squeeze in some time to see the birthday boy...andddd the birthday boy's boy. Landon T has gotten so big and even cuter than before. I didn't think that would be possible. Val was sweet enough to give me a copy of the absolutely adorable pumpkin patch picture, so I thought I'd post it for your viewing pleasure....
Next up on my visiting list is Micahji. I haven't seen my newest little neighbor in weeks...and I have to get to him before he decides to join his cousins in the "We Think Sue Sucks" club. =/
I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning, and I heard the dj's say that "Flavor of Love" was the highest viewed cable television show last week. I thought that was so nuts. Yes, I admit, I've watched the filth a time or two. But I found that to be a very sad statistic. We keep making rich morons richer. =/ I happened to catch a bit of the Hip Hop awards last night and saw the Beastie boys perform. I love them. But, there's something funny about white guys that age dressing in baggy jeans and sweatshirts and rapping. I guess age is in the mind. At least this is what Billy's dad told me last night. According to him, he's only 19 and a quarter... ;)

Me...the girly-girl version
Encouraging Word:
May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation . . . for this will bring much glory and praise to God. Philippians 1:11
Well, here we are...back again...another day, another dollar. It's dreary weather in Okc. The sun is hidden behind masses of gray clouds that keep spilling random droplets of rain. It's just enough rain to be annoying, not beneficial. I pulled out my gray wool pencil skirt and black sweater this morning. It made me happy. I love fall/winter. Heck...any excuse to bring out my gray and black clothes. ;)
I went shopping with Miss Sunu this weekend and invested in the hottest eyeshadow ever. Usually I stick pretty close to Walmart/Target when it comes to buying make-up. This could be why my make up never lasts throughout the day...and sadly, I'm not concerned enough to re-apply. However, after Friendster-stalking with BF one day, we both noticed a girl who had eyeshadow to match every outfit. We were both left completely inspired. This was what sparked my sudden wild hair to spend 20$ on eyeshadow at Victoria's Secret. Once there, I could hardly resist the Passion Fruit and Mango Maddness lipgloss either. =/ Tack on another 10$ bucks. Once in the car Sunu and I tried on our purchases and batted our eye lashes and puckered our lips in the rear view mirror. Sadly, the only people we impressed were each other. =/
I have started making the effort to be more of a girly-girl. I figure my Curious George t-shirt and jeans with a hole in it are not quite so impressive. Therefore, I've been investing in several "self improvements" along with busting my arss at the gym. I have to thank my "made coach," Shines for stopping me from making some grave mistakes this weekend...like going to Marble Slab and enjoying a birthday cake remix =/ and buying a new shirt at this stage in the weight loss game.
Right now, I'm tired, I'm sore, and I'm broke...but one day....it'll all be worth it! ;)

It's Friday the 13th!!!
Encouraging Word:
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33
Good luck to Miss SunuK on this Friday the 13th as she takes her comps today. I've known Snuk for several years now, and I've seen her worry and fret a lot through out her academic career...but she always comes out on top. She sells herself short through the process though...She often forgets that she's intelligent and determined...and most importantly, blessed. I have no doubts she'll do just great today.
Miss J. Banana leaves on her world adventures this weekend. Her flogs will be greatly missed for the next 3 weeks, but I can't wait to hear about her journey and all her wonderful experiences and thoughts. I'm quite sure if she jotted them all down, it could be a best seller one day...THAT'S just how good she really is! ;)
Before I forget...Happy birthday (on the 15) to two special girls....My sister, Beena and my galpal, Staicy! I hope you both enjoy your birthday and are blessed with many wonderful years to come!!
Enjoy your Friday the 13th...buahahaha!

ipods, schmipods...
I found my ipod shuffle after several long months of it being missing in action. I realized that all the songs I have on it are sucky. I bought 3 new cd's, which I will have to upload/download...whatev...on to the ipod. But as usual, my most prized of the 3 cds is now missing. i have the worst luck when it comes to "things"...they always seem to disappear.
anyway, owning an ipod really helps when spending 45 minutes on an elyptical trainer. i never realized how boring it was before. Now, I tell myself..."just listen to 9 songs and it's over." Now if only I could figure out how to get decent songs on it. I love Enya...but not for work out tunes. Snore city...If anyone reading this ipod savvy...and lives in the OKC area...please do feel free to give me a call and help a sista out. I seriously think owning a walkman is much more simple...bulkier, yes, but simple.
In other news, I've lost 5 pounds. 35 more to go. =/

Birthday Bash One
Encouraging Word:
The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. John 6:33
Well, part one(part two will take place Friday with the Black Boo) of my birthday festivities has taken place. The girls took me out to the newly-opened Cheesecake Factory last night. Yes, Oklahoma City is JUST NOW opening a Cheesecake Factory. We are so behind, but trying to catch up. Despite the 75 minute wait, it was well worth it. The food was off the heezy fo sheezy...;) (what does that mean, anyway?) Per the suggestion of CCL and SueTee...the new Judas and Benedict, I had a DEEEEEEELICIOUS passion fruit martini. It appears that my lovely cousins...Jessy, CCL, and SueTee went out to Cheesecake Factory for a girls night out on my actual birthday and enjoyed my new favorite martini. Somehow, I always miss out on such fun festivities with the cousins. =( I guess this is the price I pay for being the blacksheep Oklahoman. Anywhoo...the girls had a birthday toast for lil' ol me...and then called me 4 days later to tell me about it, knowing I would have whined and complained if I knew what they were doing that night...considering what I was doing (bought myself dinner and went to sleep at 9pm)
Anyway, back to last night...it was a lovely time. Syb got me the most amazing Weight Watchers Cook Book, which I'm looking forward to trying out. Conversations turned a bit deep last night as we reflected important things like motherhood, the fact that Jesus was only alive for 33 years (which is pretty close to our age), and what we would do if we knew this was our last day on earth. That pretty much sent me into a spiral of thinking last night....
What would I do? I think I would hand write letters to everyone I loved to let them know I loved them, I'd pass out food and tracts to the homeless one last time, I'd warn all the wayward teenagers I know that life is too short and getting right with God "later" is not an option but a risk, and I'd eat a slice of pepperoni pizza and johnny carino's chocolate cake.
Anyway, other than all that serious talk...we had fun talk too...and as usual, Jessy did some Damage Control. ;) Forget American Express...Jess is definitely someone to never leave the house with out! ;) Pics for viewing pleasure...for once, i didn't have camera control...so, this time the camera was on me...
By the way, I'm trying the curly look for a new permanent style...I've been bit by the lazy bug...so, tell me what you think of it.
Most of my favorite girls...Jess, Sunu, me, Syb, and Julez...

Happy Anniversary Billy and Val
Encouraging Word:
If you are thirsty, come to me! If you believe in me, come and drink! For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water will flow out from within Jhn 7:37-38
I never thought I'd say this, but work has been pretty busy lately. My task lists are never ending...not that I'm complaining. It's def'ly a much needed change. But my blog posts take a bit longer and occasionally are non-existant. So, I'm just going to have to learn how to pace myself to squeeze everything into my day. ;)
A special shout out to Billy and Valerie on this...their 2nd anniversary. May you be blessed with a lifetime full of happiness and love!!
Benedict (Sheryl) and Judas (Sunu) are back from their Chicago trip while BF is kicking up her heels for one more day. I think the betrayers were feeling quite guilty for abandoning me in my hour of need (for a celebration, that is)...because I got plenty of calls from them during the weekend. Benedict mentioned the purchase of some new bangles for little ol' me...I'm quite excited to see them. I'm hoping they'll match the Indian outfits I got from my aunt and the maternal unit. By the way, it's not quite so easy to maintain a diet when I've got chaka chips and halwa in the house. =/

Thoughts on my 32nd birthday...
Encouraging word:
If God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? Matthew 6:30
I remember my golden birthday...when my dad brought home a cake with orange frosting, my mom insisted that I wear a frilly pink dress, my sister brushed my hair to the side and clip it back with a poodle barette, and CCL and Bobby came over and sang happy birthday to me. A part of me wishes I could freeze time that day....that I could feel that kind of perfection and joy all the time. But alas, I can't be six years old forever.
Growing up is hard to do. Life's lessons are no fun to learn. But age brings about something good...a sense of clarity about life...it's ups and downs and how to survive. I did a lot of thinking last night on the eve of my 32nd birthday. And I realized that I have always been a survivor by God's grace...and with God's grace, I always will be.
So maybe I'm not six anymore...maybe my mom couldn't squeeze me into a pink frilly dress if she tried, and I can never look forward to my dad bringing me another cake...maybe the only thing my sister could do for my hair now is hand me a bottle of frizz ease and a Chi...and maybe CCL and Bobby are too far away to sing to me....but life is good today. And...the year ahead will be good as well...this is my year of promise!...I claim it! ;)
A special thank you to all of you who made me feel special in your own special ways!
Pics for you to enjoy!

So little time...
Encouraging Word:
God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. John 3:17
So much to do and so little time to do it today. Tonight is the season premier of LOST, so I'm finding myself very short on time to do the things I need to do...like working out and taking Mousse for a nice, long, tiring walk. She's been hard to handle lately. I think she's had about enough of staying outside alone all day long. So, I'm sure she will welcome the MU's arrival on Friday.
My friends are leaving me today...on what should have been our Chicago get-away. It's now THEIR Chicago get-away...and I'm left behind. =( This always seems to happen...especially when I'm really looking forward to a trip...something always happens to where I have to stay at home...I call it the travel Jinx.
I finally have pictures from Jason's gig to share with you...I'm so behind on picture posting these days...
I always admire people who break the mold...who step out of their comfort zones to follow the passion that God has placed in their lives. Jason is a person who continually does this...It's obvious to anyone who hears him speak or sing that God has set him apart from the rest. He has a ministry...and that ministry isn't something he just pursues when he's on stage...but it's something he lives by. I'm sure that if he read this...he wouldn't want me to toot his horn for him...because he'd say it's "all God" and not him. I agree...it is all God. BUT that doesn't mean he doesn't serve as inspiration to the rest of us...to use our gifts and talents to share God's love...

Encouraging Word:
Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:4 NLT
Happy 4th birthday to my boy, Andrewji. He is a big fan of curious george, so I got him the movie and a CG toy to play with while he watches it. ;) I'm sure he'll love it. I can believe 4 years has come and gone so quickly. I still remember when he was just 3 months old, and we put him in a stocking and took a picture at Christmas. =(

The Weekend Update...
Encouraging Word :
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8 NLT
First things first....
Happy belated birthday wishes to Miss Anita and Miss Sunu K...I hope you both had fun birthdays and that this new year will be bright and blessed for you both!
My last maternal unite-free weekend was marvelous. The Esther lesson with the little girls at the women's retreat went fairly well. I'm not sure I taught them much, but they had fun making the princess wands. And...I had a great time laughin' it up with my lovely assistant, Shirley.
Saturday evening was spent with my oldest friend, Sherry. She was husband and kid-less that night, so we decided to go out to dinner. Sadly, by 8:30 pm...neither of us quite knew what to do next. We weren't feeling the bar scene, weren't interested in watching any movies that were playing, but didn't want to be middle-aged bores and go home so early. So, we decided to grab some coffee and chat for a while. I introduced to her a carmel frap and she was delightfully surprised. We surmised that we've been friends for 20 years now. I think we're both proud of having such a successful and long-standing friendship, despite the current differences in our lives...afterall, 20 years is over half of our lives.
Sunday...I worked out with my weight loss guru...or my "made" coach , as he calls himself. Shines taught me so much about weights and weight loss in general. I'm feeling extremely motivated right about now, and I can't wait to zap the rest of this weight off. I have lowered my weight goal...and now I'll have to lose 42 pounds to achieve it. Shines seems to think I can do it. I'm not sure about achieving the actual number...but I think I can def'ly reach the size goal by then. I shall keep you posted!...
