Well, I'm not back from Florida just yet. It's currently Monday night and Sunu and I will be back on the road again tomorrow afternoon. We're both bummed, but knew the fun couldn't last forever. I wanted to post my pictures for you rat racers earlier today, but was experiencing some technical difficulties...but knew better than to let you suffer through another 8 hour day without reading material/viewing pleasure to waste your time on...so here you go!
Thanksgiving in Florida was wonderful. I was lucky enough to spend time with my sister and family and my BFs...what more could a girl ask for? It was a time of feasting, fun, fellowship, and reflection on what all we have to be thankful for.
Sunu and I picked the best weekend to be in Florida...not only was it Thanksgiving, but it was BF's birthday and the weekend that she and Matty moved into their lovely first home. I was really happy that we were able to be here to help her celebrate!
Enjoy the pictures of all the festivities....
My brother-in-law, Shep was the chef for the evening...we had a delicious pork roast and fried turkey...
Me being thankful for my BF on Thanksgiving..
Matty doing a splendid job setting the table...
Shep and Aaron at our favorite Sushi joint in Orlando...
Florida sisters and OKC sisters....
My sister, Beena and me...
A ride in the back seat is always an upshot photop...
Sonia's Happy Birthday at Cheesecake Factory...
Me and my one and only Matty...
BFs... Sonia, since we didn't really say a proper goodbye...I thought I'd go ahead and write one since I know you'll be reading this when you get back to the grind. I miss you already...I am glad that since I can't be close enough to have brunch with you and Matty after church...my sister is...and that you guys watch out for each other....just as me and Sunu do. The weekend was GREAT, and I'm so happy that Sunu and I were able to be here for all the festivities. See you in March.
Stay tuned for more picture....

Happy Thanksgiving Eve...
Encouraging Word:
Praise the LORD with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. Ps 33:2-3
My initial plan was to do a little bit of nothing today, but that plan was scrapped this morning when I logged on to my email and received a list of "to do's." So, I will begin tackling my list as soon as I post my blog (lest I receive an email from a certain New Yorker complaining about my lack of a blog post) ;)
Since it is the eve of Thanksgiving...I thought I would share my list of what I'm thankful for...The past few months have been a bit rough, but if I dwell on the negatives, I'll end up losing focus on all the positives...and will miss the meaning of Thanksgiving all together. That being said... I am thankful for:
The job I always complain about. It may be a bit mind numbing at times, but it's provided me with stability for 7 years.
The people in my life...who selflessly go out of their way to help me, cheer me up, make me laugh, and keep me on my toes.
My lovely niece and handsome nephews...They're growing up now...but the memory of holding them till they fell asleep when they were babies are most cherished.
Last but not least...i'm thankful to God for showing me that even in the bleakest of situations...He is in control...and with Him there is always hope!
Now...I have some pictures to share. I'm not completely finished with the apartment...but I figured I could post what I've done with the place so far for my cousin Sue...since her email doesn't seem to accept my pictures...
The entry way. I got the nifty little wall hanging for 14$. Can't beat that!
My kitchen. Note the incredibly cute teapot above the stove. It was a gift from BF's mom...It goes well with my "colorful cafe" theme
My countertop...note my mini Christmas tree?
My bare living room...and God send of a TV...courtesy Billy! Sheryl bought me a beautiful mirror to put my living room, but I need a stud finder and a stud to come help me hang it up. ;)
My steal-of-a-deal couch!
The dining table where I eat my meals alone! (one IS the loneliest number!)
I've always wanted these picture coasters. So, when Sunu A got them for me, I was so excited. But then came the hard part...determining what pictures to put in them. I decided to go with a retro theme. ;)
So there you have it, folks...My humble abode! Hope you all have a flabulous weekend! Eat and be merry!

Three more days...
Three more days until I'm off to sunny, Florida. I'm looking forward to this 5 day escape. It couldn't come at a better time. The BF's have purchased their very first home and will be moving in this weekend as well, so I'm happy that I get to see the new house and join in on all the excitement.
This weekend was a blur. It just went by way too fast. I had lotsa visitors and guests sleeping over...and managed to get no real sleep for myself. I've allowed miss mousse to sleep in the living room with out supervision, but she seems to think her job is to stay up all night and be a watch dog. She barks at the slightest sound or threat of danger. I appreciate her commitment to the job, but I'm sleepy and annoyed at the moment.
Anyway, attached are some pictures from the weekend...mainly from my dinner at the house with the Samuels.
Billy, Val, and Landon
Mommy and baby...
Mousse giving a little love...

Sloppy Joes and Cupcakes...
Tonight I have over my first dinner guests. I wanted to make something nice...but I'm not dealing with a normal adult here...his request was for sloppy joes and cupcakes. Yep, my guest is none other than Mr. Billy Balloo...sadly, Val has to eat from the same menu. =/

A shout out to my friends...
Encouraging Word:
Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? … Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Philippians 2:1-2 NLT
I talked to a few friends last night that I haven't talked to in a looooooong time. It's not like there is any sort of bad blood between us whatsoever...but that both of those friends have moved on to a different phase in life. And sadly, the new phases doesn't allow them much quality time with friends. But, what I appreciate is the fact that although it might have been a year or more since we've spoken, we were able to pick up right where we left off. And that's always a nice feeling.
Both people expressed to me that they miss the friendship...not just mine, but our "group" of friends. They both said that they haven't been able to find a group of friends like ours...people who genuinely care, aren't hung up on what you've got or how much you've got, and who accept the good along with the bad with out being judgmental.
Listening to them, I realize how good I've got it. I'm really thankful for my friends...I know that I can call on them at a minute's notice and they'll be right over to help me, I can let my pony-tail down and be myself, which often includes snorting at inopportune times...and they won't judge me for it...and if i need to cry, they're strong for me when I need them to be and then hang up and cry for me too. Most importantly, I know they pray for me with out ceasing.
Anyways, it's not national friends' day or anything, but I just wanted to take a minute to appreciate all of mine....I'm glad things like "phases" don't phase us. ;)

I can almost taste the turkey...
Encouraging Word:
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3
I've gotten a few requests for pictures of my apartment. I hardly feel ready to post pictures when things are still so incomplete. So, hold on BF....pictures are a'comin. ;)
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! It seems like just yesterday when BF said that there was 37 days left till I'd be Florida bound for the holidays. Sunu A and I will be heading down to Dallas Wednesday night to fly out bright and early on Turkey day. I'm quite excited. Mainly because my brother-in-law is an amazing cook...and my sister isn't too shabby either...so I'm sure the grub will be absolutely delicious.
I shouldn't even be thinking about grub since it's been 2 weeks since I've worked out properly. It's been so hectic trying to find a place to live and then getting settled in. yah, yah i know...excuses excuses.
The weather today is absofreakinlutely miserable. It's so windy that I felt like my car was going to topple over on several occasions. Yet, by the weekend it's supposed to be sunny and 60 degrees. Go figure...
I asked Mousse to pose, so I could take a picture of her to show BF and Beena...this is the look she gave me. She's not fond of Floridians...

Encouraging Word:
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Ecclesiastes 4:10
I'm bored. Living alone with out TV or internet is aging me. I miss the trashy reality shows on MTV more than you know. I've been sleeping really early and waking up really early. I just begged a friend to come over for Tea and Crumpets. Why do I feel like a sixty year old?
The good news is, I got my couch last night. Oddly enough, the couch seemed tiny to me at the house where I got it from. But inside my apartment, it's of massive proportions. The guys had a wee bit of a hard time squeezing it through the doorway. Now that it's in...I don't forsee me ever getting it out. And the guys mentioned that I shouldn't call them for that project...=/ I've got a year to worry about that one. ;)
Mousse is with the Maternal Unit today. I decided this was a better option than leaving her in the apartment to bark her head off at the maintenance guys who will be putting in my new counter tops. Mousse is adjusting quite well...surprisingly. The only thing that's a bit of a problem is she can't seem to find a proper spot to "go." But, I guess if she has to go bad enough...she'll go. ;)
In other news...I have a certain "Bombay connection"...who has given me the insider hook up on getting some of my stories published in one of their local newspapers. I guess this means that SueVee's going international. ;)

Settled in...
Encouraging Word:
Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Revelation 3:20 NLT
The taste of freedom is sweet, but kinda boring. I went to bed at approximately 8ish last night. Perhaps things will get more lively when I have a TV and some furniture to sit on. Sunu A introduced me to a friend of hers who is selling me a gorgeous sofa and table for a price that's unbeatable. As soon as I find a kind soul that has a truck, I can take it to my humble abode.
The MVF (most valuable friend) of the weekend is none other than Billy Balloo. He totally helped a sister out on Friday. From morning till night he was there helping me pack, unpack, load, unload. Billz, I truly appreciate your time and efforts this weekend. You'll have to come over and see the finished product sometime this week!
In other news, all the festivities of the weekend went lovely. Below are some pictures for you to enjoy!
me with most of my gal pals at pipe and nancy's engagment
Ruby's shower
us with some floggers and bloggers
Ruby opening her presents...most of em' were nice...but a few were naughty...tis why sat behind her to write down what she got...I can do without seeing skimpy lingerie!
We be-friended Ruby during our missions trip to Mexico...so we thought we'd give her a present with a touch of Mexican flavor!
BF requested a picture of my fridge with all the pics of cutey cute people on it. ;)

Peace out, cub scouts...
I didn't post a blog earlier today because I've had a lousy day at work...and couldn't muster up enough energy to write anything. But now, with 15 minutes left to my day, I am in much better spirits...especially since I won't be back here tomorrow!
Yep, tomorrow is moving day. I'm quite excited and ready to go. I don't guesstimate that the moving process will take too long, considering, I only have a bed...as far as furniture goes. But, I'm excited about furniture shopping and all that jazz in the nearest future. ;)
I guess my big worry now in regards to having my own place is how miss Mousse will behave. She's never been indoors for 8 hours...alone. So, I'm hoping she doesn't have any accidents...or chew up stuff she's not supposed to. I guess I have to get her lots of bones and chew toys to occupy her bratty arss. =/
Well, rat racers...have a marvelous weekend. I will be quite the busy bee...trying to get settled, attending the Pipester's (aka Santosh, pastor's son) engagement, and it's ScoobyDooby Ruby's bridal shower! ;) Good times ahead!

Bloggers are like onions...we have layers.
Encouraging Word:
The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. John 6:33 NLT
I was listening to Joey and Heather (morning show dj's) this morning on the drive to work...and they were talking about the fights they've gotten into with their friends and family regarding the show. Apparently people don't understand that the morning show is a SHOW and that the way they are on the show doesn't really depict their true day to day selves.
I was immediately reminded of the "flogo/blogosphere." It's funny how people can read someone's blog/flog and decide whether they are your fan or foe. I will be the first to admit that these websites are definitely a reflection of one's self. However, that's all it really is...a reflection.
I think that humans have so many layers...it's impossible to completely figure someone out through their writings on a website. I know that what I portray on my blog is real, however it's definitely just one side of me. It's the side that my friends and family know, however if I was to walk down the street and be approached by someone who happened to read my blog, I would not come off as the same Sue from Suevee's blog. I'd be really shy and a bit socially akward. =/
So, I guess what I'm saying is that when you read blogs/flogs...take it merely as a source of entertainment. The people you are looking at and reading about are 3 dimensional and are probably have a lot more depth to them than what you are seeing. We are just here to express ourselves to the best of our ability and entertain you. ;)

F.I.A. Weekend Report...
Encouraging word:
As a wise, little cute apachen once quoted:
"God makes all things beautiful in His time."
and...as a slightly intoxicated man once said:
"Every dog has it's day."
T minus 4 days (I think...I'm not sure how this T minus stuff really works) before I move into my new place. My anonymous commenter in my previous post was quite correct...I am made to be more than a conquerer, which is exactly why I decided it was way past time to begin this quest for independence. I found a quaint, little, affordable place, which I will be moving into this Friday. Billy and Sunu A will be helping me move what little I have.
Sunu and I had the best time ever buying stuff for the apartment this weekend. It was the best weekend I've had in a very long time. We found some insanely cute plates for 1$ a piece...which will be perfect display plates for the kitchen table I'll have in a few weeks. Slowly but surely, I'll get the place furnished. It would help if IKEA was located in OKC...but no dice.
My BF-in-law was in town this weekend. It was good times...and now I can't wait for my trip to Florida in just 17 short days!! Thanks to him, I found my beloved black sweater in the trunk of Sunu's car. She tries to deny that it's mine, but when I put it on and it fit like a glove...i knew it was none other. It's been almost 2 years since the disappearance...i never thought i'd see it again. but happy days are here again. I'm wearing it today...and will wear it tomorrow...and hmm...most likely the next day. in fact, i'm never going to let it out of my sight again! Thanks, Sunu!
I had an amusing convo with Sunu A's mom last night. At least we thought it was amusing... It went a little something like this:
Sue: I'm not going to make that cake unless you have frosting for it. Do you have frosting for that cake?
Sandy: I have vaneela
Sue: vanilla?
Sandy: Yah Vaneela
Sue: You're making vanilla sound like a Malayalee girl.
Sandy: *laughing*

Much Ado About Nothing...
Encouraging Word:
The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10 NLT
This whole "take each day as it comes" thing is getting harder and harder each day. You would think that at some point there would be a glimmer of hope, but instead things seem to get progressively worse. But, what choice do I have but to roll with the punches? Despite the many bumps and bruises.
I went with Ruby for her first fitting. It was an interesting experience...I learned a lot more than expected about the process. The little oriental lady gave us some helpful hints about moving around in a wedding dress. She said you should never step backwards or to the side...but only forwards...else you'll rip your dress. I found that to be a useful piece of knowledge considering I lack grace when moving around in anything fancy. (tis why I can't pull off saris)
I had a good chuckle the other day when I checked my post office box. I got a royalty check from my publisher. The part I chuckled about was the grand total. I guess I shouldn't be too bummed. I must admit that it's nice to know that there are actually earthlings out there who are still buying the book. I didn't go into this thinking I'd make millions...but it sure woulda been nice. ;)
Yesterday, I realized that I look Indian...and it made me happy. I figure that since I'm not skinny, don't have long, straight hair, or big eyes...people probably assume I'm Hispanic. But, yesterday I went to this gas station...and this persian man (who must have been legally blind) said, "hello beautiful lady." I looked behind me. But no one was there. ehehh...so I smiled and said Hi in return. He then asked me if I was Indian or Pakistani. I said, Indian, and he said he thought so. I took that as a compliment because I think that Indian girls...for the most part...are quite beautiful. ;)
